About EUCEET

Call for Applications: 2027 EUCEET Award for Excellence in Teaching in Civil Engineering

The EUCEET Association is pleased to launch the 2027 edition of its Award for Excellence in Teaching in Civil Engineering. Building on the success of the 2025 edition, awarded to Professor Alfonso Rodríguez Dono (UPC BarcelonaTech) at the Budapest conference, the award once again invites the European civil engineering community to celebrate outstanding, innovative and transferable teaching practices.

The award recognises teaching initiatives developed by individual lecturers or by teaching teams. The winning initiative will receive European visibility and will be presented at the AECEF–EUCEET Joint Conference in Zagreb (22–23 April 2027), where the winner will deliver a keynote lecture.

Who can apply

Individual lecturers or teaching teams active in civil engineering education.

The candidate must belong to an institution that is a fee-paying member of the EUCEET Association.

Each EUCEET member institution may put forward one official nomination.

There is no nationality requirement: eligibility is defined by the candidate's institution being a member in good standing.

Evaluation criteria

Impact — evidence of a positive effect on students, curriculum or the wider community.

Innovation — original teaching method, assessment, digital tool or learning design.

Transferability — potential for reuse by other EUCEET member institutions.

European value — connection to mobility, collaboration, sustainability or the digital transition.

What to submit

Application form (EUCEET template), duly completed.

Description of the teaching practice or initiative (objectives, method and context).

Evidence of impact (data, outcomes, student feedback or results).

CV of the applicant or a short profile of the teaching team.

Optional: student or peer testimonials, links, publications or media coverage.

The winning initiative receives a prize of €2,000, together with an EUCEET certificate for each member of the awarded team.
